Three Questions for Dr. Payne

After reading her book, A Framework for Understanding Poverty, and viewing the video clips both for Dr. Payne's ideas and against, I would really like to know how she compiled her data. Did the scenarios she presented come from her own personal experiences or professional experiences as a classroom teacher or administrator or were they recounted experiences of her colleagues?

I feel that much of the advice in her book applies to all students regardless of socio-economic status like speaking to students, especially high school, with respect and in the adult voice. What exactly caused her to focus her research only on those students living in generational poverty and what distinguished them from the students living in situational poverty?
